When I Fall in Love

… it will be FOREVER-Such a huge statement that the world has been declaring but how on earth do we still have so many broken hearted that has been the main cause of many of our broken marriages, separations and divorces, dysfunctional families, social issues and all? We have all missed the point, havent we?

What is L-O-V-E? Wikipedia tells us love encompasses a range of strong and positive emotional and mental states, from the most sublime virtue or good habit, the deepest interpersonal affection, to the simplest pleasure. Indeed, the world shows love in the craziest ways. There was a report in 2023 on a 72 year old man in bangkok evidently showed some kind of crazy love that many probably cannot fathom. He kept his wife’s body for 21 years after her passing, spent time and continued to sleep on the same bed but finally let go for her to be cremated for fear that there will be no proper burial for her after he passes on. I can never comprehend how sleeping with a corpse for 21 years can be viewed as a positive emotional and mental state, from the most sublime virtue or good habit. Maybe, it can be of the deepest interpersonal affection and simplest pleasure.

As all believers, we know the infamous passage in the bible, 1 Corinthians 13, that specifically tells us a whole lot about what love is. The knowledge of God brings us to Love. In fact, the whole bible is about Love. God’s love for us empowers. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. (1 John 4:18a ESV)

God is Love.

Notes taken and still reflecting from the word shared by a sister-in-Christ, a message of and for Love, inspired by the Holy Spirit. Love draws us closer. Love gives. Love carries on.

Love draws us closer. James 4:8 notably reminds us on drawing near to God and He will draw near to us. We can see how God pursues His people throughout the bible. As Psalmist says in 65:4 Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! When we love, we draw close. We desire to spend as much time we can have together. There is a longing for more and nothing else but only the presence of our everlasting God can quench this thirst.

Love gives. Our Father in Heaven’s exemplary giving of His Son because He first loved, speaks more than any words that attempt to explain and express further. Godly love propels giving of self. It is unconditional. However, one cannot give when there is nothing to give. We need to be abundantly full to be able to abundantly give.

Love carries on. It is a legacy. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. For we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world (1 Timothy 6:7) but when we love & we show love, we leave behind memories and footprints that remain in hearts long after we are gone.

Love ● Goodness ● Truth
